Britain is facing an existential crisis, and the leadership of Keir Starmer is putting our nation's future at risk. Imagine you're in a life-or-death battle; would you want Starmer as your ally?
The Fight for Britain's Survival
Our post-war decline has been masked for decades by an illusion of protection and relevance through our 'special relationship' with the US. But here's where it gets controversial: this relationship has always been one-sided, and now, under Donald Trump, America is no longer pretending to be our friend. Trump's contempt for British troops who fought alongside Americans is a stark reminder of this reality.
Trump has shown us the world as it truly is. And Starmer, along with his government, needs to wake up to this new reality. Britain is on its own, and it's time to take charge.
The Illusion of Alliance
America has never been a reliable ally. During World War II, they exploited our desperation through the Lend-Lease program, selling us outdated military equipment and leaving us with debts that lasted decades. The Suez Crisis in 1956 further exposed their lack of commitment, as they threatened economic sanctions unless we withdrew.
Post-Brexit, the US has been dangling the promise of a trade deal while demanding concessions. Meanwhile, the current American president threatens tariffs and softens his stance on Vladimir Putin, the very threat we're meant to be addressing.
A Wake-Up Call
Britain's tough talk on Ukraine is only because we believe the US has our back. But Russia has suffered a million casualties, and it's unclear if Starmer and his government truly grasp the gravity of this situation.
The PM's endless U-turns are a result of this reality check. His Chagos deal, for instance, collapsed at the first sign of resistance from Trump. We cannot afford this waste of time and authority.
A New Reality
Even Nigel Farage, a staunch supporter of Trump, has lost his trump card. The warning signs are clear, as highlighted by former Bank of England governor Mark Carney, now Canada's prime minister. His message to the World Economic Forum was clear: 'The old order is not coming back.'
The dream of globalisation has been shattered by terror attacks, financial crises, energy shocks, and the rise of autocratic powers like China and Russia. Even Carney, a globalist, understands this, warning that a country unable to feed, fuel, or defend itself has few options.
Self-Sabotage and Dependence
Every serious nation exploits its own resources, but under Miliband, the UK is blocking new production in the North Sea. This is an act of self-sabotage that undermines our position.
Miliband claims we're leading the world, but the world is laughing at us. His focus on renewables ignores the reality that dependence on Chinese energy technology and farmland lost to solar panels only increases our fuel and food dependency.
And Starmer is allowing a Chinese bunker in central London, further compromising our sovereignty.
The Need for Self-Reliance
On defence, Starmer talks big but spends little. Our military is under-resourced, and our borders are porous. International cooperation has not, and will not, smash the gangs.
As Carney said, 'When the rules no longer protect you, you must protect yourself.' Yet Starmer clings to a rules-based order that is visibly failing. By the time he wakes up, it may be too late for Britain to recover.
