Romancing SaGa - Minstrel Song - Remastered International: A Fresh Take on an Iconic Classic
Localization and distribution are led by Red Art Games.
LONDON, UK (Dec. 9, 2025) – SQUARE ENIX®, in partnership with Red Art Games, today confirmed that Romancing SaGa - Minstrel Song - Remastered International is now accessible in physical and digital forms for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, and Nintendo Switch™ across North America and Europe.
This edition adds French, German, Italian, and Spanish text localizations for the first time, building on the 2022 digital release which modernized the original PlayStation®2 game with HD visuals and a suite of technical and gameplay enhancements. Players can also choose between the original Japanese or English voice acting.
Romancing SaGa - Minstrel Song - was originally a full 3D remake of the 1991 Super Famicom title Romancing SaGa, preserving series hallmarks like Glimmer and Combo systems. Its hallmark Free Scenario structure—letting players pick from eight protagonists with unique backgrounds to craft a personalized journey—remains central to the experience.
The Standard Edition, now available from select retailers, is complemented by two limited editions that can be ordered directly from Red Art Games’ official online store (https://redartgames.com/) (PEGI-rated versions).
With the new International edition, the game is fully playable in French, German, Italian, and Spanish for the first time, making it inviting for both longstanding fans and newcomers.
Key features include:
- New French, German, Italian, and Spanish localizations (International edition exclusive)
- Full HD visual upgrade
- New recruitable characters: Schiele, Marina, Monica, and Flammar
- Enhanced and more challenging boss encounters
- High-speed mode
- Mini-maps
- New Game+
- Japanese or English voice options via in-game menu (International edition exclusive)
Compared to the 2022 digital release, Romancing SaGa - Minstrel Song - Remastered International adds language localizations in four new languages and several minor bug fixes. All other content remains the same. Because this International edition is sold separately, players seeking the new European language options must purchase this version either physically or digitally. Save data from the 2022 release is not compatible with the International edition.
